IS YOUR FISHING NET DIRTY? IS YOUR LIFE ATTRACTIVE TO OTHERS?

This mornings has started out so good—-but of course every day is a good day in Christ! The Bible tells us to be content in what ever state we are in.

  • 1 Timothy 6:8 (NIV)But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.
  • Philippians 4:11 (NIV)I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.
  • Hebrews 13:5 (NIV)Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
  • 1 Timothy 6:6 (NIV)But godliness with contentment is great gain.
  • Philippians 4:12 (NIV)I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.

I heard a message one time that will stick in my mind forever.( Me paraphrasing of course )It went like this ( John Wishon in revival a few years ago preached )  When they get done with there fishing nets the fishermen spends hours cleaning them. ( Talking about Peter in the bible ) Go with me now!  your in a fishing boat ! You have been out all day , sun, rain, cold, windy it don’t matter the weather . You have a family to feed.( the bible says if a man don’t  work he don’t eat ) These men worked so hard,when they got home they had to spend hours cleaning there nets.

Get a fishing net and look at it, at how hard it would be to clean it.  All the little strings going here and there, criss crossing. .Think about all the nasty stuff on it , where it has laid on the bottom of the lake or ocean floor ! Now the one you are looking at unless you are a deep sea fishermen is very little compared to what they had to clean.   The fact is, if they didn’t clean them the fish would not come near the net. Imagine getting all that stink and slim off it. “Stay with me I am getting there “That is the way it is in our life. If we don’t keep our life pure before people. God can’t use us to bring them in. We are to be a vessel for God . We have to strive each day to draw as close to God as we can. Maintain a life void of sin. Not that we can in our own strength ( for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God ) The beauty of it is as we mature in the Grace of God  we become more aware of what his word tells us about the way we are to behave. That is where we have Jesus the intercessor to make the plea for us to God himself to help us in our infirmities .We look in the mirror and want to look our best ,then we act like the devil himself when we are in the public. Sit in the Church pew and gossip and criticize the Preacher and the people. Go out and tell every thing we heard. The bible calls it ” tail-baring “God don’t like that.”

Make sure to stayed prayed up and cleaned up for we no not when the master will call us home. Most of all I want my Father God and the Lord Jesus Christ to be pleased with me and say job well done my good and faithful friend welcome home ! WE won’t be able to rest we have to keep  going for the love of Christ to be heard.

Lk 5:5 NIV

Jesus said to Simon: “‘Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.’ Simon answered, ‘Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will’…When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break” (vs.4-6 NIV). Notice two principles in this story: (1) God will use failure to get your attention. Peter was tired, empty-handed and disappointed when Jesus spoke to him. And He will speak to you through a rocky marriage, a child you’re about to give up on, or a job that seems too hard. He doesn’t want you to run from your problems, He wants you to learn from them; to discover the difference He can make in your situation when you invite Him into it. (2) God can take you back to the place of failure and give you success. We assume that because we weren’t successful at something, it wasn’t God’s will. But often the truth is, we failed because we relied on our own strength instead of His. When Jesus spoke, the fish responded. The Bible says: “They caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break. So they signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them, and they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink” (vs.6-7 NIV). God is not limited by your circumstances, He’s only limited by your unbelief. When you obey Him, you’ll discover He has a level of abundance in mind that will exceed all your expectations

  1. Very Good! We need to keep our lives clean before the Lord, so that we can lead others to Him! No one wants to follow someone else who says one thing and does another, we stink before God when we live like that, and the world sees right thru those that live double lives, the only one deceived is the one that thinks they are getting by. We as Christians need to live the life we say we do! Pure and Holy!!! Psalms 101: 3-8 – God Bless you, Yvonne

    • You are so right and I thank you for the response to this. Please over look my misspellings or words left out I am just starting this. I read it over and over again and still see some things I needed to change. God Bless you to kiss my girls for me

    • Yes he is and thank you for reading my blog! He has been working on me for a long time now. I need all the work I can get from him 🙂 but I guess we will be a work in progress until the day of our return HOME ! Love you sister
